A little bit about us and the work that we do at Six Scientific Service.

Six Scientific Service (SixSci) is a small business enterprise located in San Marcos, California 92069. SixSci is a registered Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with the State of California and a Very Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) with the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Our marine scientists specialize in supporting water quality, marine sediment, and biological monitoring and compliance. Our scientists understand the need to provide integrated solutions to clients who require comprehensive environmental support.

A continued theme of SixSci’s business model is to provide field experienced scientists to support clients in adverse settings at cost competitive rates. We rely on previous project experience, knowledge of project processes and personnel’s key problem solving skills to provide quality support and efficient operations. SixSci has the ability to be very responsive, flexible, and cost-effective, because of the small business setting.

SixSci’s scientists have more than 15 years of experience in water quality monitoring using the standards in instrumentations, receiving water sampling, benthic collections in support of sediment quality objectives (SQOs) and BIGHT protocols, sediment collections via multiple techniques, vibracore sampling to support dredge operations and geotechnical studies, field logistics, sample management, and analysis. They have more than 13 years of experience leading NPDES monitoring and are experts in sampling protocols, NPDES associated equipment operation and the analysis of collected field data. SixSci’s scientist are also experts in fish surveys using multiple capture techniques. They have conducted fish surveys near shore from San Diego to the Columbia River and in every port and harbor in California. SixSci’s scientist have conducted fish surveys via beam trawl and fish traps in 6,000 to 9,00 feet of water off the island of Guam. They have also conducted fish surveys throughout the South Pacific in support of NAVFAC Pacific. They are also very well versed in protocols of the SQOs phase II fish tissue collection.

SixSci’s scientists are licensed USCG Captains and experts in scientific vessel navigation, understanding the importance of the vessel positioning while sampling to ensure quality data is collected.
